Enkive 1.3 RC3 Released -- anticipated to be final candidate

Hi All,

Enkive version 1.3 Release Candidate 3 is now available for download at http://enkive.org/community/download and at http://sourceforge.net/projects/enkive. Do take a test drive, and give us feedback! Unless you report any new issues, we expect to declare this the stable release within a week or two. The one issue we have uncovered and repaired:

  • Changes to fix hangs on shutdown. A few threadpools were not being cleaned up properly, causing the JVM to never exit. Killing the JVM was fine (all data had been cleaned up), but otherwise it would hang around.

Installation instructions are here: http://wiki.enkive.org/index.php/1.3_Installation_Instructions

Instructions for migration from 1.2 to 1.3 are here: http://wiki.enkive.org/index.php/Upgrade_Instructions

Please note, this is a release candidate, and not a supported release. Deploy it only in test configurations. The RC will be the final product, unless significant bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization, all product features have been designed, coded and regression tested through one or more beta cycles with no known showstopper-class bug. This means that no entirely-new source code will be added to this release, but there could still be source code changes to fix defects, changes to documentation and data files, and peripheral code for test cases or utilities.

We truly appreciate your feedback. Please submit bug reports here: http://bugs.enkive.org/ Please send questions to the mailing list. Requests for commercial support should be sent to info@enkive.org

Thanks for your patience.
